Romanian Deadlift
A hip hinge that keeps the bar close to your legs.
What you need
A barbell and space to hinge; a rack can help you begin at thigh height.
How to do it
Stand holding the bar in front of your thighs with your knees slightly bent.
Move your hips backward while guiding the bar down close to your legs.
Stop when you feel tension behind your thighs while still controlling your back position.
Push through your feet and bring your hips forward to stand.
Keep in mind
- The bar does not need to touch the floor.
- Keep the movement at your hips rather than rounding your back.
